i never said my doc was ok with it ofcourse she wouldnt be. I appreciate the feedback cant talk to the doc about these questons cause she'll stop precribing me xanax. If i didnt take so much xanax do you think it would still be harmful to smoke a little while on xanax or is it a bad combo period

6-8 mg is not unheard of by any means....Xanax can be used safely up to 10mg per day for panic disorder. I don't know what your diagnoses is tho. That is a hefty dose to be taking every day and then throwing other meds and weed in with it....I'm not gonna try and bust your chops over it, because i smoke myself on a daily basis, but i'm only taking 3-4mg of xanax daily....Just be honest with your doctors and you will be fine.....It's worked for me so far....Best of luck.

I started smoking as medicine back in 2002 and before that I would every once a great while smoke herb recreationally, but nowhere near daily. When I reported that smoking herb allowed me to swim, to cut down drastically on narcotics, and to eat without pain, the pain doc put me on Marinol.

I was shocked when I saw some paperwork my pharmacist sends to BC/BS for payment -- the Marinol costs something like $1,000 per month for 90 5 mg. pills! If I didn't have insurance, it would not be possible for me to use this med since, as you indicate, I could buy enough medical grade cannabis to not only smoke (note: I actually use a vaporizer to avoid the toxicity of smoking) whenever I needed, but also to make enough cannabis butter to cover my medical needs, and still have money left over.!

That is why I am working to help the medical marijuana initiative that will appear on Michigan's November 2008 ballot achieve victory. Very few folks can afford Marinol. Heck, I could not afford it if I did not have a $10 co-pay. If we ever switch to cheaper insurance, I probably won't be able to afford it, as all new BC/BS policies in Michigan seem to have brand name co-pays in the range of $30 to 50% of actual cost of medications. $500 per month for Marinol? I don't think so, not with all the other meds I NEED, such as brand name insulin, digestive enzymes, etc.

The way it's going, pretty soon I won't be able to afford to be sick:(!

Is marinol a synthetic of THC? Just wondering When I worked HIV-AIDS I had several clients that had them prescribed and they told me that it is completly different than smoking marijuana. I was told it a body type euphoria and that it certainly did work for gaining weight
