Bad Oxycodone from Walgreens or is it me, please help!I've been taking Oxycodone for 3+ years and it's always worked great, never had a problem. Until...... Until I picked up a new bottle of my 30mg (Amide brand) pills on April 8th. They have been giving me the sweats and chills when they kick in....sometimes I feel these withdrawl symtoms 3-5 hours after taking them, other times I feel them when they should be kicking in (30-40 minutes)....um.....severe drowsiness. Like I said, all along this medicine has worked great but now i'm super suspicious Walgreens has a bad batch of pills. I went down there and they laughed at me basically, they wouldn't send one out to the lab or report this to the manufacturer. They said it's me and they wouldn't work with a different Walgreens right down the street that carry that other brand Mallikodt or however it's spelled. To me this is completely ignoring a possible major health issue. Since this location opened less than a year ago and 30mg pure oxy's aren't prescribed very frequently I doubt many others even go to this pharmacy for them. They said there's been no complaints but I really don't think many people even take these pills. Sorry I'm rambling and this is so unstructured. QUESTION::: Has this ever happened to anyone? Have your oxy's just stopped working pretty much? In the morning usually I feel them kick in about 20 minutes in, and have 80% relief from pain by 40 minutes. Now it's taking 2 hours almost and the pain relief is barely there. All I know is that these brand new side effects start promptly 30 mins after I take them. Last night I got a bad case of the chills 30 minutes after ingesting...this makes zero sense to me!! What should I do??? All I want is a different brand of pills to see if it's me or these pills......I just can't help but think that I'm taking bad medicine and nobody even cares at the store!! My side effects started the exact same day I picked up a new bottle of meds?? Common! AGain, sorry this is so poorly thrown together, these pills have me so tired right now it's hard to keep my eyes open. I wish my doctor was around on the weekends to write me a new script so i could just have insurance do an over-ride for a different brand of pills. jask;fkladsjfl;dsfjl;sajfl;asdjfl;jdsal;fjadskl;fjadsl;jflsadjfljsadfj d GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! mikejees oxys
Hey Mike, that is really weird. I used to take the 15mgs Amide brand from cvs or the hannaford pharmacy (when I lived in maine) and I never had any problems like that. Are u taking anything new that would effect the oxys? or are u maybe getting sick? Coz I know when I used to take them and i had the flu comin on or a bad cold or something, when I took the oxys they made me feel the way u are describing. But that is messed up that the walgreens wont help u. actually u said u are in Mass right ? cause i replied 2 your post yesterday about the DDD, and told u that i am in Mass also. Do u mind me asking what town? Im in beverly. anyways I would prob tell your doc first and see what he/she says about it. I mean as long as u arent taking anything new and arent sick, than I have no idea. But if they are makin u feel this way and not helping your pain, i would not take them. Who knows maybe someone screwed up at amide. it sounds like they are maybe a lower dose, like 5, instead of 30. maybe they messed up and only put 5mgs in that lot. Dont know brother, good luck though, thats a tough one! let me know what happens. I'm from Sturbridge.hmmm
I'm from Sturbridge. hmmm I was gettting sick when this started now that you mention it. My glands were wicked swollen, had a major sore throat and I had a sinus thing but that seems to have gone away now. Maybe it's not quite out of me? To the other suggestion, no I'm not taking/eating anything new.....then again maybe I'd have to know what affects oxy's then backtrack through my diet. I don't "think" I've been eating anything different. Oh well, on Wednesday I'll get a new bottle from a different Pharm/manufact. and see what's up. Thanks for your help *insert name here*! =) ~Mike G. were the pills any different
were the pills any different than normal? If nothing else, this may just be a sign you are building a tolerance and need to up your dose. I'm a social worker, not a medical professional. All comments and thoughts are simply my opinion and experience. Walgreens and Mistakes
Hi Everyone! I am disturbed Mike on what you are experiancing. I know abc did a major story on Walgreens and some huge mistakes they made. I switched my pharmacy needless to say. This was a year ago. I know it is possible that you may have a flu bug, but there is this new change in your med. I would make a call to your doctor's office. Are you sure they gave you the correct medication? I would not approach them at Walgreens, unfortunately they have done very unprofessional mix ups. See if you can find the news story- I would hope that a Professional would want this med tested at a lab. It is a sensitive issue because of the problems that have happened with this particular medication-good luck-hope you feel better! whats up Mike G
Hey Mike whats up. you said your pills were from Amide right.. the ones with the A215 on them? i was just curious, I couldnt remember. i wanted to look at your original post again before i wrote this but i didnt. but anyways, the 15mgs i used to get were from Amide and I never had a problem with them, not to say that they didnt screw yours up, but I think you were just coming down sick, like you said, u had some symptoms, and the same thing happened to me when i was on them and i came down with the flu. So u r from Sturbridge, thats western Mass right? is that off the pike or rt 2? or am I wrong all together? lol. Im from Salem, but living in Beverly right now. I use a Stop n Shop pharmacy, but it is closing and they shipped all their records to Walgreens right near my house, so I guess I will be dealing with walgreens for a while until I can find the next closest S n S with a pharmacy. Ive never really used walgreens so we'll see how they do with me. Well good luck and I hope it was just that you were sick and not something wrong with the pills or something else dangerous. Take care bro! Peter |
