any one else know.....but i wanted know witch was stronger..i know the 100mcg patch takes up to 15 hours to work...and only last 48 hours or so....but the sucker works in 20 and last the whole day...i just wanted to know if a 600 MCG oral sucker was stronger than a 100 MCG patch????? ( categories: Discussion of Prescription and OTC Meds )
If i remember correctly the
If i remember correctly the actiq fentanyl suckers are an immediate release breakthrough med where as the patches are an extended release system. The 100mcg patch is designed to release 100mcg every hour for 72 hours and the sucker releases it all at once. I am not 100% sure on the mechanism of action of the "lollipops" so I wouldnt be able to accurately compare the two although my best guess would be that it releases all the 600mcg of fentanyl by the time your done sucking on it so it would release 600mcg per hour compared to administering the patch and recieving 100mcg per hour. Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong i just figured I would comment before the OP reposts the same question for a third time. |
