I am taking Suboxone have been for a while and it keeps the cravings away works really good actually. I can't see where it helps me with pain though but I have been making it. Today however I have a headache that is stemming from disc damage in my neck I have these days sometimes. I really need to take a Norco my last suboxone was yesterday afternooon around 19 hours ago as of right now. When/would it be safe to take Norco?

Apologies to the regulars

Apologies to the regulars for bringing a topic back from the dead, but I just wanted to pass on a little bit I have learned about this.

I had an injury that was going to require surgery in my shoulder. I asked my pain management doctor who prescribes my Suboxone (for pain) how the post op pain would be managed if I were to have the surgery. She said that, at the time of the surgery, the surgeon will be the one dispensing the pain meds and that it would not break my contract since the pain group was aware of the situation. My doc did say that taking another narcotic on top of Suboxone really would not help much, if at all, due to the high binding affinity of the Suboxone. I don't know that that helps answer your question, but I just wanted to relay that piece of information I was told about taking traditional pain meds while on Suboxone.

This has nothing to do

This has nothing to do with the OP's question, but I just wanted to say "Welcome Back" to 'gtrplayer'! During his hiatus, I'm sure a lot of people wondered what happened to him, and also missed his knowledgeable answers to a whole plethora of questions. I know I did. It's none of my business as to why gtrplayer was not online here during his absence, but I'm sure he was missed by all. So I hope all is well with you gtrplayer. I just wanted to be one of the first to 'WELCOME YOU BACK!" (p.s. Sorry to go 'off topic' here). AIP

Thanks AlwaysInPain, for the welcome back.

Just so nobody gets the wrong idea- No, I didn't get arrested or have to detox or anything crazy like that. I simply had an auto accident in February, and stayed at my parents for a couple of weeks. When I got back home, my motherboard had blown on my computer. So, I waited until I could just buy a new computer instead of fixing an obsolete one. Thanks again for the concern, it's nice to know when you are missed. And, sorry for the unexplained absence.

Gtrplayer, your surgeon may

Gtrplayer, your surgeon may be able to give you Toradol for post-op pain, it's one of the few analgesic
options available for SubO patients, you might want to ask about it, a little analgesia is better then none at all.
