Oxycodone 40mg ER TAB TEVA no longer available?????

Is it true that the only medication available is the brand-name Oxycontin 40mg from Purdue? The generic from TEVA has been shut down due to a lawsuite?

I've asked both TEVA & Purdue and neither will give me a direct answere. I'm sure I'm not the only one on Medicare Plan-D, where my monthly cost has gone from a co-pay of $4.00/month to a donut-hole of $500./month. (Annual $48/yr to $6000/yr) I think that is a 12,400% increase.

Does anyone else have a problem with this? Any suggestions on what can be done? I'm at a loss. I have a 30day supply and a script I can't get filled.

Any insight or guideance will be appreciated greatly!!!

Ive known a lot of people

Ive known a lot of people that either had to switch to Methadone or Morphine extended release because of this. Im not really sure how Medicare/caid works, do they not pay for meds when there is no therapuetic equivalent like most insurance companies do?

what medicare plan do you

what medicare plan do you have? i do believe they will pay if you use their mail order pharmacy. most of the medicare plans have a mail order pharmacy you can use to fill your scripts. otherwise i would call around to different pharmacys and see if anyone still has generics available.

I also have Medicare D but I

I also have Medicare D but I have to pay I think $195.00 for all brand names. I just went a few days ago and they still had the TEVA Oxycodone ER. Also I am sure going to a 3 month pharmacy has nothing to do with your Medicare D insurance. That is the insurance company that pays for the med's

iimscs  Yes The TEVA brand

iimscs  Yes The TEVA brand had to stop manufacturing Oxycodone ER on DEC 31,2007 Depending on where you live call some small town pharmacies and they might still have the TEVA's on the shelf. Also you can look in changing your Medicare D plan which I did which has no donut hole at all but they make up that with higher price brand names. I think the brand name Perdue will cost me $195.00 but it might be $149.00 It is one or the other. Hopefully Perdue Fredrick will make their own generics like many maufacturer's do  I really hope so
