i have known two people to try it. one quit smoking successfully (for the last year), and the other relapsed and started smoking again. all thoughts and opinions expressed are those of my own and should not be mistaken for medical advice. i am not a doctor nor a pharmacist. all medical questions should be answered by a licensed pharmacist, doctor, or primary care manager. chantix
when i was looking into getting onto chantix my doctor and I did some research and found out that it was very expensive. I didnt have health insurance at that time and i was on suboxone at that time so i had to pay for the suboxone scripts cash and they are like between 5.75 and 8 bucks a pill depending on the qty and where you go. It was explained to me that it is a maintenance med and you could be on for a while, so for me it just wasnt going to work financially for me. I have a few friends that have 100 percent success with it, so i heard that it does work .... thats all i got Chantix
I know two people who quit smoking using only Chantix. And no one has complained about ill effects. In the package insert it states many people stopped taking the drug because of nausea. My friends had no problems whatsover. According to both persons, it is expensive but a 'piece of cake'. Chantix obviously did its job with two long-term smokers. And that's very, very good. BTW, both ex-smokers have been off cigarettes for months now. One hasn't smoked for 9 months. And the other person did relapse for a couple of days but saw his action was futile and hasn't had a cigarette in about 4 months. I'm not a pharmacist or a medical doctor.
