Nicholas Piramal

Hi OptionB,

Thank you so much for posting the image of Nicholas Piramal Rivotril.Smile

I've wondered about this for years and am so glad to see the image.

I've never even seen a question before about the NP Rivotril but, in my mind I figured the tablet would be imprinted 'Rivotril' as you presented and not 'Roche'.

Many years ago someone on another board posted a question about Valium made by Nicholas Piramal. The tablet was white, 10 mg and was imprinted "Valium 10". This screamed FAKE to me!SurprisedYell AFAIK all real non-USA Valium was imprinted Roche 2, 5 or 10 and followed the white, yellow or blue color scheme.

I wrote Nicholas Piramal a quick email and expressed my doubt.

Within hours I received the nicest email answering my questions in detail. The company provided absolutely outstanding customer service, and I appreciate it immensely.Smile

Nicholas Piramal makes Roche products under license and apparently is the only licensee to be able to use the product name as the imprint. My old computer and emails are gone but the gist of the email is that all products are colored white by law under the Indian Pharmacopeia and these particular products are made for export only to Nepal (and possibly another country at that time - maybe 3-4 years ago).

Off-topic but right now we have at least three entirely different images of Rivotril 2 mg on Pharmer.org.

If someone is bored tonight, start a post and incorporate them all. It's really neat to see and compare the differences around the world.

The posters are OptionB, 4andsic and chemik. Same med, different imprints and different areas of the world! There might even be more posters - not sure - but these three posters are definite.

Rivotril

Oh wow.

Either it's a total coincidence or chemik read our posts and performed his magic with a camera/scanner!

Thank you so much, chemik.Smile Excellent images, as always.

This is what we were talking about last night.

We have at least three Rivotril imprints worldwide (not counting US Klonopin which is the same drug but looks entirely different).

Clonazepam, Rivotril 2 mg, different imprintsThere are 2 different looking pills of Rivotril (Klonopin) by Roche meade in Europe.

This picture shows the two blisters and the different pills: One has only "Roche" as an imprint and is slightly smaller. These come in french blisters, which are red and opaque, while the other ones come in blisters that are white and not opaque.

The french are sold in my country, imported back from france.

And here are the Rivotrils sold in other parts of the world:

Interesting how "Roche" &

Interesting how "Roche" & Rivotril" are in the same shaped figure.

Iktorivil

Iktorivil is another Roche clonazepam we know about - other than US Klonopin.

Iktorvil is apparently identical to the Roche 2 imprint and is marketed in Sweden. It's also possible this brand name clonazepam is distributed in all of Scandinavia.

Can someone please confirm Iktorvil is identical to the Roche 2 imprint? And confirm the countries of distribution?

And can we make the thread complete with an original, non-copyrighted image of US Klonopin 2 mg (cut-out K)? Thanks.Laughing
