methadone and sex drive

I know this is one of the downfalls of mmt.  Is there anything to take that helps..

I could care less about sex, since I have been on methadone.my wife is not frustrated yet... any suggestions that would boost libido with methadone?

little blue pill ? is that safe whyle on methadone? doctors?

Many of my (male) chronic

Many of my (male) chronic pain patients end up on testosterone replacement, due to low testosterone levels, a well-known indirect hormonal consequence of chronic high dose narcotics.

Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra may help with erections, but do not necessarily increase your interest in sex.  I frequently do prescribe a viagra like medication along with testosterone replacement.  I do not know of any contraindication with methadone. 

Definitely talk to your doctor about it.   If he is uncomfortable prescribing testosterone or testing you for low testosterone (yet another controlled substance, C-II), an endocrinologist or a urologist might be more comfortable with it.

I have been on methadone for chronic pain and benzos for aniety for over a year and I knew it had something to do with lack of sex drive and ED probs...but now I know for sure..I am 31 so was to shy to ask for Viagra at my age...now I know to talk with my DR ..thnxs for the information...RNB

Hey thee is a new vitamin suppliment fot MMT patients. It cures constipation, sweating furiously, kills the sweet tooth....Yeah EVERY1 on MMT craves sweets hahaha. Its called Vitadone. just google it and it will tel you all about it. im not advertising at all for them i just heard it worked really good.

Hey thanks! I will try I know I have put on a few extra pounds...LOL. hydrocodone/oxycodone/fentanyl never gave me sweet tooth they actually kept my weight down..

 

 

I don't like people who take drugs... Customs men for example

mmt and sex drive

hey thanks DDOSER for the tip on that vitamin, I will look it up, and since the other person said they advertise it at his clinic, then it must be legit....hopefully.  I could use a break from ringing out like a sponge everyday!  As for the sex thing, it does effect me also, ive been on MMT for almost 2 years and my girlfriend who i live with hates me.  She understands why, but she still gets so mad.  Shes not the type to cheat, but in that situation, im keepin an eye on her.  i mean i can make her happy, but she wants to be happy all different ways.  it sucks coz I have NO interest in it AT ALL, so i too need some help.  I dont have a dr though.    oh well!  we shall see what happens

Same here with regards to weight loss and hydrocodone/oxycodone/fentanyl.  For whatever reason, that combo didn't make me tired either; rather the opposite, I was wired.

I had the same problem a

I had the same problem a while ago when I was on prozac. just cause I am a female doesn't mean women don't have a large sex drive too, lol, or at least I did prior to taking the prozac. I kept trying to explain to my fiance at the time what was going on, and he was understanding to a certain extent but he was still a man. There is not much out there for young females with that problem. I eventually got rid of the prozac (and him), and quit having problems. 

I'm a social worker, not a medical professional. All comments and thoughts are simply my opinion and experience.
