Wow, thanks Flounder, what a wealth of information.
This tablet sure looks factory made, but like you, I couldn't find a description or image match anywhere on this little puppy. I can't imagine a fake being made of a thyroid hormone - not really a historic money-maker...
I will just sit on this one for awhile and see if info comes to light later.
My gratitude for your research.

I have not yet found an image that matched exactly your tablet.
It is not the Goldshield Eltroxin which is released mostly in Europe and Africa (I think made in UK by Custom Pharm) which is a round white tablet simply marked “ELTROXIN 10” for the 100mcg dose you’re looking at.
It’s not the GlaxoWellcome and GlaxoSmithKline produced Eltroxin as seen in Asia, which is round white tablet marked “ELTROXIN 100” on one side and “GLAXO” under a single score on the other side.
See: http://www.gsk.tw/products/medicines/ELTROXIN.shtml
The Canadian GlaxoSmithKline version should be round yellow tablets marked “100” for your 100mcg dose tablet:

I’m guessing maybe this is made by GlaxoSmithKline either in UK or USA? It is not on their website because GSK just sold the Eltroxin brand license for “major markets outside of USA” to Aspen Global (of South Africa and Australia). According to the info on GSK website, GSK is still manufacturing the tablet until Aspen gets production up and running in South Africa. But that still doesn’t explain why it’s not on GSK website if GSK still markets it in USA.
Beware, there have been fakes coming out of India and Asia. Your tablet looks too nice to be a fake, but?
Thyroxine would be hard to check for. Can you convince the person that brought it to you to forget about it????
