Changing from 512 Percs. to Diclofenac ?????I just went to my doctor friday about my back issue and i informed him that the current 5mg percs that i was taking didnt seem to work as well now as before. He changed my medicine to Diclofenac to see how it effects me. I am posting because i have never heard of this med and it doesnt seem to be working even as well as the percs do. Please help inform me as to what i am experiencing. I am worried that my doctor may have given me a lesser pain med. Any info will be very helpful.... I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if youve been on Percocet for an extended period of time with regular use (even as little as 10 days) you are probably going to feel symptoms of withdrawal. Diclofenac is an NSAID, which is a non-steroidal anti-inflamatory drug. So I can understand why you are getting no relief from it if you werent getting any relief from the percocet. In my opinion your doctor got scared when you told him/her that the perc wasnt working anymore and made the drastic switch to a non-narcotic. Again IMO s/he shouldve switched you to a lower class opiate before cutting you off, but doctors usually arent that kind. I was taking hydrocodone
I was taking hydrocodone 5/500 apap for the past 6 months for surgery on a broken leg, and for pain management and when I asked for another refill, she said no more vicodin and switched me to the diclofenac sod 75mg. I did not feel any pain relief, next she tried me on celebrex, and also wanted to try me on lodine. I want to go back to the hydrocodone, but she won't prescribe anything with narcotic :( |
