I've been on meds for add since '81. All C-11. I'm scared of being cut off. Is there any way I can rest assured that I'm not going to go to my doctor and "out of the blue" be cut off? I see the guy every three months. He always gives me a drug test, (which I resent.)

If you have been on them

If you have been on them since 81 and pass your drug test everytime then there is no reason for a doctor to discontinue the treatment unless he shuts down his practice/retires...so chances are you will be fine.

Don't resent the urine drug

Don't resent the urine drug screens.  It keeps your doctor out of trouble if there is ever a DEA or state investigation of his prescribing practices, it  protects you from recieving inadequate treatment if you were developing an addiction problem, and it is just good medical practice.

test

I have insurance. It pays for a lot of tests. It does not, however, pay for THAT test.

The thing is, the last time I went to him, I told him about a serious procedure I had done on my right eye. ( not  gloucoma) He did not seem at all interested in what I was telliing him.

There is another doc. practicing with him that seems much easier to get along with. I may see if I can switch. I'm an argreeable person. I really don't ask for much, just a little respect. That's what I try to give people.
