hi, everyone I hope all is well. I as wondering If anybody has experienced involentary twiches or jerking movements. I do take opana er 40 w/ 20 er opana/ plus 5mg for break throught pain. betcha wondering how ai could be standing. ha ha ha.. seriously, not sure if this is a side effect of this med. this symptom was happening befor any pain medicine was involved. one of the reasons kinda why I started seeing the doctor. sometimes my whole body will jump and twitch, if anyone is having same symptoms or know anything about them any inpit would be much appreciated. Thank you Tracey
The only time I had the jerking/twitching was when I was taking Neurontin and then Lyrica. It happened on both meds. Stopped the meds & the jerking/twitching stopped. I mentioned it to my then doc and he looked at me like I was crazy. Are you taking any of those meds? Nerve pain meds?
Good Luck................KK
Lyrica can definitely cause jerking/twitching in some cases. I never experienced this with neurontin but I did with Lyrica. I love how your doctor looked at you like you were crazy when I also had the same thing happen so obviously we are not crazy.
Frk.....I know what you mean. He just looked at me like I was a hypochondriac or something. I mean the jerking/twitching was so bad that I would be smoking a cigarette and sometimes my hand would *^!& and the cigarette would go flying!!
I am so glad to be off those meds.

I was on this med for about 2 weeks when I started to have muscle twitching. But mine gets worse. I had loss of the ability to walk, speak, memory loss etc. The doctors thought I was having a stroke. Needless to say, Thank God one of the docs took me off it and I slowly became normal again. Was in the hospital 3 weeks plus tons of PT.Same as you KK things would fly out of my hands at the start of this nightmare.Everytime I even hear the name of this med, I start to twitch.Hope no one ever has to go through anything like this. All The Best, Nancie
Wow I am sorry to hear that that happened to you, Nancie. See.....It isn't all "in our heads." I'm glad you are better.

I had this type of thing happen to me once. I was in the county jail for awhile and I started taking a lot of benadryl to stay asleep to escape being there (it did not work). The side effect was involentary twitching so I quit taking it and it went away.
Just my experience.
