I read a lot of posts that say "Ultram" does not work. It does work for diabetic neuropathy pain in the feet. The pain is excrutiating, and the only thing that works for me is the "Ultram". So if anyone needs something to stop that kind of pain, I would say to try it. 50 mg pill once a day in the late afternoon around 5pm. I had recent hand surgery and had to take percocet. It did not help with the neuropathy pain in my feet. I have to get my other hand done tomorow and the Dr. gave me an RX for Vicoprofen. I am curious to see if this will also help with the foot pain. I will post again and let you know.
i'm curious if the vicoprofin worked for your neuropathy? i have really bad neuropathy in my feet from my diabetes and the only thing that works for the horrible pain is vicodin. i've tried all the things specifically for neuropathy, like neurontin, cymbalta and some other things i can never remember. then i had a hysterectomy and my feet never hurt during my recovery so my doctor put me back on vicodin for the neuropathy after about a year and a half of trying the other things. i do take them w/lyrica now, the 2 seem to work together but the lyrica does nothing alone. i hope that you get relief from yours. it's the most horrible pain and keeps me awake at night, and nothing can touch your feet. it sucks. i hate it. i really don't know what vicoprofin is, but it sounds like it's vicodin w/ibuprofin? as opposed to tylenol? i can't take ibuprofin, and i don't know what ultram is either, but i know that i broke my shoulder a year ago and took that and it did nothing. i would love to hear how you and your feet are doing. :0)
I'm in the "middle" of a diagnosis for neuropathy in my feet. As far as i know i'm not diabetic, although i'm do for more bloodwork soon so we'll see. i'm having a procedeure after x-mas for the confirmation of the neuropathy. Has anyone out there ever had this test I have heard some horror stories.Electrodes in the feet, sharp needles, blah, blah, blah. Can anyone respond?
I have been suffering with fibromyalgia and neuropathy for about 8 years now, but it took doctors 4 years to diagnose me. The pain was so bad that I spent 90% of my day in bed. I have 3 children and for them it was so hard to not have mommy to do the things a mommy should be doing, alot of it was put on my husband. After I was diagnosed they immediatly put me on lyrica with the meds I was already taking. The very next day I was up out of bed making a 4 course breakfast for my children, cleaning the house, and doing laundry. I felt GREAT!!! and most importantly, my children had thier mommy back. I would recommend lyrica to anyone with fibromyalgia and/or neuropathy pain
I find it peculiar that ultram works but percocet doesnt. Perhaps it is the serotinergic effects of the ultram that are giving you the feeling of extra relief. Also if you really do have diabetic neuropathy you should try lyrica or neurontin as Lyrica was first approved for diabetic neuropothy and neurontin is a close cousin of lyrica. They would be more effective treating the nerve pain than standard opiates would be.

all that is done is some electrodes are put on and then they look for nerve conduction using a small amount of voltage/ it is a pretty much a no pain thing.

I dislike Ultram/Tramadol it provides a little if any pain relief for me. personally I would think the percocet would work better/ it's my preference. also the vicoprofen should work better for your pain than ultram but everyones different.
Different strokes for different folks.
