This pill originates I believe from India or Pakistan. It's supposed to be 2mg hydrocodone, but I am skeptical. Any thoughts?

I am also skeptical that your pill is 2 mg hydrocodone, but anything's possible.

Hydrocodone is not used much outside of the US.   Most countries use dihydrocodeine or codeine in lieu of hydrocodone.

But I do remember reading something ages ago about a child's hydrocodone pill available over the counter (I think) in China.  This evening I'll try to find the info again.  If I find anything, I'll post back.

Thanks Kirby, I've also asked the manufacturer for clarification, but I think you're right, it's probably codeine or dihydrocodeine. If you can check the info re: China that would be useful.

Cheers

Hi Doug,

Sorry for the late follow-up, but I haven't found anything.  I guess google doesn't keep everything forever contrary to my son's opinion!

I've tried all kinds of searches for China + hydrocodone + child + you-name-it.  I'm not senile yet and definitely remember what I read ages ago.  I also frequented every board/forum that I remember visiting in the past and searched on those boards.

I'm trying to pinpoint the timeframe, and I think it was probably two (but less than three) years ago that I encountered these posts.  I know the timeframe is correct because I only became interested in pill identification about three years ago.

Sorry, but obviously my searching skills - or time - has beaten me.

How about you?  Did you hear from the manufacturer?
