ABG 80 Not Mexican

Round green tablet imprinted ABG on one side and 80 on the other side is 80 mg controlled-release oxycodone (generic OxyContin).

Ivax 80 mg Oxycodone ER

ABG 80 is a US generic, not Mexican.

BTW we finally got a positive answer for your FR2 post

both are oc 80 and both are

both are oc 80 and both are strong abg is just the new generic. they dont gel like the football shaped generics, they are just as good as the real ones.

same exact thing

abg/80 and OC/80 have the exact same ingredients.  oxycodone hydrocloride.  just bc is has a different iimprint on it doesnt mean that the oxycodone/hydrocloride it contains is weaker than the other ones.  like ive said before.  If i gave you an abg and an oc, scratched off oc and abg, and told u to take it (however you choose to ingest it) you wouldnt be able to tell me the difference.

I agree

I agree. Anyone who thinks that generic drugs are weaker based on suposed product inferiority is wrong.

One milligram equals one milligram. I don't think the FDA would like it if a company sold 80mg oxycodone's with only 60mg of oxy in it.

generic oxycontin

I see alot of postings about generic oxycontin and how people are not getting the pain releief for the 12 hours as it is suppose to be. The brand name OC pill is the EXACT same thing as the Watson ABG pill. Watson has purdue make their generic and instead of putting OC on the opposite side of the mg they put ABG. There is absolutly no difference. ABG generics work the same, now i know that Teva and Endo also make generic oxycontin which are a little different. Purdue invented the controlled release patent for oxycontin and instead of watson going through all the research and development to duplicate the OXYCONTIN they just have Purdue manufacture them. Inside of a oxycontin pill there are tiny microscopic holes that act as the timed release. So even if you take off the coating which is just color and swallow the pill whole it will still be a 12 hour release now if you break it the release mechanism is void and it will release all at once. From personal expirience the ABG and OC are perfectly the same, I have also tried the Teva and Endo versions which i believe are not the same, seeing how they all contain the same active ingrediant being 10, 20, 40, and 80 mgs, they DO NOT work the same for me which im sure people will agree, why is that I asked my dr and pharmasist and i was told that some peoples bodies metabalize the drug differently and generic drugs can have a varience of 10% I believe. I hope this helped. I tried my best to explain this. I am not a dr or a nurse or anything in the medical field. I am a meatcutter/meat manager. Its all personal expirience. Just to show you. Currently I am prescribed 5mg Oxycodone IR. I am to take 2-3 capsules two or three times a day as needed. I have tried the tablets from the Mallik, Roxicodone, Amide and ethex and i do not get near as much relief as taking 3 Ethex capsules, seeing how its exactly the same med my body only gets relief from the capsules, and i have tried the brand name ones from Purdue and the Mallik ones and the generic Ethex only work. Yes its weird but thats my body. Everyone is different. I really wish someone would make a 15mg IR capsule.

hope everyone has a wonderful day,

I agree

I know that it seems odd but my mother was the one that noticed the difference first.  She used to get the ones that had OC on one side, and the dose on the other.  A year or so later, after the ABG ones were the ones we got her, she asked me if they were weaker.  I said, no they are just generics, and she was perplexed.  THEN my husband had surgery and they gave us a non generic in the hospital, and it really did seem stronger.  Power of the mind or not, there does seem to be a difference...at least to me.  lol
