Norco vs Lortab

Norco combos contain different amounts of hydrocodone combined with 325 mg acetaminophen.

Lortab combos contain different amounts of hydrocodone combined with 500 mg acetaminophen.

To answer many topics...

The main reason why there are a ridicuolous amount of different types of Hydrocodone/APAP if for people that must take it every 4 hours and need to be careful of APAP toxicity levels.

I have noticed that with oral surgery's, the surgeon will typically write more scripts for Hydrocodone with more APAP then the "standard" 500mg. Now if you are taking them around the clock say for a chronic ailment, not a recent surgery, it is not a good idea to pop a 7.5/750MG HYDRO/APAP every 4 hours or else you will exceed the recommended limit of 4000mg/4g of APAP a day and have a wicked toxicity level of APAP in your liver. Hence when I had my battle with narcotics I would consume almost 10,000mg/10g of APAP a day, of course that was abuse. Thank the Lord, family and friends I cleaned this up.

Honestly when I become a family physician, I will probably write more scripts for Vicoprofen if there are not any contraindications. Taking 200mg of IBU as opposed to 500mg APAP, by common sense is less work on your liver.

Random Creed - When I do become a M.D. I will have no problem writing controlled scripts when they are truly needed. You guys will be in good shape with Dr. B.Green of Oklahoma City
