Very dumb idea
Yeah very stupid idea. There is a reason humans don't use it but don't know what the reason is. Its a phenothiazine derivative antihistamine. I found this for you - Phenothiazine (FEE-noe-THYE-a-zeen) -derivative antihistamines are used to relieve or prevent the symptoms of hay fever and other types of allergy. They work by preventing the effects of a substance called histamine, which is produced by the body. Histamine can cause itching, sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. Also, in some persons histamine can close up the bronchial tubes (air passages of the lungs) and make breathing difficult. Some of these antihistamines are also used to prevent motion sickness, nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. In addition, some of them may be used to help people go to sleep and control their anxiety before or after surgery. Try some benadryl. I hope my little sig works this time cuz I followed the directions - we'll see.

Sorry but I saw this and
Sorry but I saw this and thought it was like benadryl - HOW THIS MEDICATION IS USED Acepromazine also can stabilize the rhythm of the heart in certain situations. This is especially helpful for highly sensitive patients who gets so frightened they can actually suffer a "heart attack" from fear. Acepromazine not only allays the fear through tranquilization but helps keeps the heart rhythm stable. Acepromazine is commonly used to prepare animals for general anesthesia. Acepromazine is also classified as an antihistamine; however, due to its healing tranquilizing properties it would not be used as such. In summary, Acepromazine is used for:

"i know what the pill is
"i know what the pill is and what it is used for i was wanting to know if anyone knew of the dangers of her doing this would be" pittman. yes it is a stupid idea for any human to take animal medicine. i am NOT a doctor or a pharmacists but just the smallest bit of decent sense should tell you or your friend that taking a medicine that was intended to be metabolized by an animal is not a great idea. you will find it very hard to get an "informed opinion" by anyone w/ decent sense b/c decent sense would tell you not to take this medication. i do wish the best for your friend and sincerely hopes that she gets the help that she needs in order to stop considering taking medications for animals. Alprazolam is cheap, even
Alprazolam is cheap, even with out insurance. There are many mfg of generic Xanax, and many alternatives as well. Not only do I see a danger with taking a med intended for animals, but I don't see how getting this particular med would be any easier or cheaper than Xanax. May 22, 2006 - 9:14pm
