what is the highest mg hydrocodone pill/capsule?

have been on multiple meds for nearly a decade due to severe industrial accident, i recently joined this site and saw a pic of what was described as 15mg hydrocodone by another member. I was under the impression that 10 mg/aceto was the largest..(norco,lorcet,etc.) after multiple surgeries on knees, several herniated discs in neck, back, thoracic region as well as severe "brain aches" due to brain damage...all resulting from the same massive blow to the head, i would sure like to know if that was accurate info. I currently get 120 norco (10/325) monthly and would sure like to bring it up with some of my docs, if there is really a 15 mg...as i often need 2 norco when the pain is severe, where perhaps (1) 15mg would suffice. Please only respond if you know, i realize there are other pain meds that come in all kinds of mg incl. 15 mg...such as oxycodone. oxycodone and hydrocodone are completely different drugs (dif chemical compounds and all), though many people think they are the same, i HATE oxy meds and think they are evil (and know plenty of others who feel same way after switching to hydro's..for some people they may be good, but for others they bring on depression, exccessive sleeping, loss of sex drive, etc.) SO PLEASE, ONLY INFO ON THE HYDRO...if you know.  Thanks alot,

quite simply, the largest

quite simply, the largest hydrocodone apap combo made is 10mg of HC. depending on where you live and who your doctor is, he/she can order a med to be made specially for you at a compounding pharmacy.

they specialize in making meds that are unique per the individuals spefic needs.

i have seen both 12.5 and 15 mg hydrocodone/apap made at compounding pharmacies, however i guess theoretically they could make one as big as the doctor ordered. i am sure that they will have some kind of loose guidlines on their limits though.

as far as meds you will find readily avaiable at the pharm, as i said before the strongest you will find is 10mg hydrocodone.

this concern should definatley be discussed, as well as all medical needs, w/ your primary care physician.

best of luck to you.

THANKS FOR THE INFO ON HYDROCODONE

Thanks for the info. Sounds like i would be better off just utilizing the score line and taking the one and a half rather than getting custom meds made. I have a small pill holder that has a cutter inside. Yeah, i was certainly curious when i saw the pic of a 15mg capsule posted on here by someone...thanks for shedding some light. Take care.

"i am sure that they will

Compounds are used for a variety of reasons, APAP sensitivity, special dosing needs, etc.

"i am sure that they will have some kind of loose guidlines on their limits though."

There are guidelines, fairly strict ones at that, relating to the ratio of APAP to hydrocodone, etc.

I can't recall exact specifics off the top of my head, but the law reads something along the lines of no more than 10mg hydrocodone or no less than 90mg APAP, otherwise it is bumped up to a Schedule II controlled substance.

Schedule II drugs bring up issues/regulations regarding no refills and require triplicate prescription pads, which could mean an office visit each month or refill period.

Compounds can also be very expensive when compared to a Norco or its generic (and any other hydro/apap combo for that matter).

"no less than 90mg APAP"in

"no less than 90mg APAP"

in the fine state of TN it is actually 80mg, though i am not sure if that is universal.

"loose guidlines" i was reffering to the seemingly limitless variety of medications not in any way trying to say that they could just do whatever they wanted to/or whatever the doctor orders, i apologize if there was any confusion.

and yes anything over 10mg of hydrocodone or hydrocodone w/ less than 300mg apap, i believe, becomes sched II for abuse potential reasons.

If you talking about a mg to

If you talking about a mg to mg comparison then look at my opioid comparison chart, it'll give you a rough idea.
