Hello,
I was wondering if someone could help me out on some pills I have in a zip lock baggie that I have been trying to ID tonight (I think it is some type of Allergy pill or allergy/cold combo pill, may be generic, but cannot be 100% sure on the generic part)
I do know they are sold at Wal-mart.
the pill is a white capsule shape type pill with the numbers on one side 44-445 and blank on the other side.
I do remember that they came out of a box, with paper on top and foil push out types, ( which is why I removed them from the box)
I don't' know why they market the pills in boxes like they do, I hate boxes and trying to get pill out of them.. Silly me at the time I put them into the baggie, I did not ID them at the time, by writing down what they where.
Thank you,
Thank you for your Help Phisher.
It is truly appreciated
you are very welcome. i still dont believe that we have gotten an accurate i.d. on your pill, though i do believe that we are in the correct ballpark.
if someone know will tell me who makes the "44" pills i will try to call the manufactor.
all I can point you down is allergy/cold combo pill.
Thank you for working so %@$$*## this,
I also found the same problem last night when I was seraching for 44-445.
Is the imprint 44 445 or 44 455?
Very important before someone (phisher I hope!) calls the manufacturer.
Notice the title says 44 455 and post body says 44 445!
The imprint makes all the difference, so we need the correct one.
Thank you so much. And we'll get an ID with the right numbers.
if someone know will tell me who makes the "44" pills i will try to call the manufactor.
The manufacturer is LNK International. Phone number is 631-435-3500. Ask for Arlene - she's great and fast and very nice. She is an excellent customer service rep.
But phisher, first you need the correct imprint. I don't know if it's 44 445 or 44 455. I've asked for clarification a few minutes ago, but read the original post title and then read the body of the original post.
LNK makes a lot of OTC meds, and it's possible the company makes a white oblong tab with both imprints.
Kirby,
Thank you for your correction I did type it wrong in the post not once but twice..
It is 44-455
Truly sorry for this mix up, I did not even notice it until you pointed it out.
the Correct number is 44-455
Thanks Dustbunny!
We appreciate your clarification.
Phisher, if you call the imprint is 44 455.
If you can't call, let me know and I will do so.
thanks all:) i will call in just a little.
mystery solved
44-455
allergy/sinus med
apap 325
phenylephrine 5mg (some kind of new replacement for sudafed)
cpm 2mg
kirby you were correct arlene is an extremely helpful pleasant person to deal w/:)
Your correct... Phenylepherine is being substituted for pseudoephedrine as illegal manufacturers are using the pseudoephedrine to make meth. It's also the reason why the "real" stuff is now behind the drug counter and requires id and a limit of 3 boxes.
From Wikpedia
Misuse and illicit useThere have also been reports of off-label uses of pseudoephedrine for its stimulant properties. Some patients, long-distance truck drivers for example, have reportedly used pseudoephedrine as a stimulant to increase their state of alertness/awakedness. It is doubtful that pseudoephedrine would be of significant benefit, except in sensitive individuals, due to its minimal effect in the central nervous system (see Mode of Action above). Nevertheless, such misuse of pseudoephedrine has been associated with stimulant dependence.
The similarity in chemical structure to the amphetamines has made pseudoephedrine a sought-after chemical precursor in the illicit manufacture of methamphetamine and methcathinone. United States federal law prohibits buying cold preparations containing pseudoephedrine in quantities greater than 3 packages in any 24-hour period. Individual states also have varying laws on the matter (e.g. Kansas, California, Missouri, Alabama, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Oklahoma, and Rhode Island laws require pharmacies to sell pseudoephedrine behind-the-counter and personal information has to be collected for the purchaser). Various other legislatures around the world similarly restrict the sale of pseudoephedrine-containing products. Internationally, pseudoephedrine is listed as a Table I precursor under the United Nations Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances
Sorry it took so long to get back to you today, we bought a new computer desk and I just got everything put back together, etc...
Whooo HOOO!!!!!!!!! How can I ever thank you all for your help!
I was almost sure it was some type of Allergy meds, (since I am a long time sufferer and pretty new being without insurance)
Would the "apap 325" tell me what type it was or brand name or the generic name it was sold under?
it is crazy the length people will go to to get high.
Yes, I have to agree, and the laws, makes it harder for people who really is in need of the meds, when they the OTC has to go behind the counter, because other dim wits are using them to get a high. Esp when the lines are long for the pharmacy, or you get there too late ( in my case the closest Pharmacy is 28 miles away) and find them closed.
and when it comes to Allergies, mine are some of the worse ( had them all of my life)
the best meds are the ones behind the counter ( not the OTC behinds)
Zyrtec worked best for me
but since We knew months in advance we would be loosing our health insurance/ and Pharmacy, So I have been trying out ( OTC to find what best works) none so far really do work as well as the Zyrtec did for me.
I don't think I have tried the OTC's behind the counter yet,
I wonder since I am going ot of town today, IF I can take the pills down to Walmart Pharmacy and they can tell me what the name of the meds are....
But I sure thank you all for your help over the last few days..
Would the "apap 325" tell me what type it was or brand name or the generic name it was sold under?
No, apap 325 is simply 325 mg acetaminophen (generic Tylenol).
I found two products for you containing the same ingredients as 44 455. Both are sold by Walgreens:
Tylenol Allergy Multi-Symptom Cool Burst Caplets
- Acetaminophen 325 mg
- Chlorpheniramine 2 mg
- Phenylephrine HCl 5 mg
Walgreen's Daytime Allergy Sinus Caplets - exact same ingredients
Most of Walgreen's store brand pills are made by LNK, so I imagine the Daytime Allergy Sinus Caplets are marked 44 455 like your pill.
If you don't have a Walgreen pharmacy near you, go to Wal-Mart and ask for generic Tylenol Allergy Multi-Symptom Cool Burst Caplets, and I'm sure the pharmacist will find the correct product for you. Copy down the product ingredients - there are so many allergy meds with similar names, and knowing the exact ingredients will help the pharmacist locate the correct generic.
Dustbunny:
My boyfriend has the same problem. I know its been a while since you have posted this thread, but I went online and ordered a generic Zyrtec for half the price at a canadian pharmacy. They dont require a prescription there for this pill and the prices are so low!
In case anybody is curious, LNK does make a white, oblong tablet with the imprint 44-445. That tablet is an ACETAMINOPHEN 500mg FC (Fluid Congestion) Cool Caplet.
This is a Kirkland brand generic allergy Sinus medicine. Pain Reliever/antihistimine/ nasal decongestint

i havent found an exact match yet but i did find 44-458 which is
but i will continue to search for your number unless someone else can help you.
