Oxycodone is a more potent
Oxycodone is a more potent narcotic analgesic, and a schedule II controlled substance (CII). Hydrocodone is a less potent narcotic analgesic and a schedule III drug (CIII).
You can see Rawoody's Opioid Comparison Chart to compare strengths of the two as well as others.
The scheduling refers to the Controlled Substance Act
Here is a list of the substances on the DEA's drug schedule
oxycodone w/ apap 10mg/325mg
made by endo pharmaceuticals.
