Not getting into details now, but this was found in our sons room on his floor by his mother. This is how I can best describe it.
Oval-Rectangular Barr
3 slits to break it off, I would believe it was a Xanax if it had 4
Has 5's in each section (5 |5 |5 something like that)
on the other side the 1st section has a X it looks like
the other two sections have numbers the 1st being a 56 and the 2nd is 65
Any help would be great.
Thanks For Your Time
I looked at the pictures of the buspirone, but none of them looked like the one I found. Are we allowed to post a picture of the pill to help identify it a little more in detail??

Your pill should look like this pill:

with these markings:

The X is actually 2 triangles pointing to each other and is the symbol for IVAX.
Your 15 mg should have the same symbol.
But a poicture of the item would be nice for our records.I couldn't understand what it was.Xanax? or? thank you.
6948, the 555 pill is not Xanax. It is generic Buspar. Buspar and Xanax are completely different drugs. Their only likeness (aside from appearance), is that they both treat anxiety. Buspar is not a benzodiazepine drug. Buspar does not have the abuse potential that Xanax has.
Xanax is a benzodiazepine. Xanax has a low (per FDA scheduling) likelihood for abuse.
In short, the 555 pill is not Xanax.

many thanks; sorry so late. 6948

your pill is 15mg
BUSPIRONE (Buspar(R)) helps to relieve certain states of anxiety. It is chemically different from other medicines that treat anxiety and has very little effect on mental alertness. Buspirone does not produce dependency problems. Generic buspirone tablets are available.
