 In the interest of being

In the interest of being precise,

This is Hydrocodone, but it is not a Lortab (or a Lortab generic)

Watson 503 is a generic Lorcet. Containing Hydrocodone 10mg Acetaminophen 650mg

primarly the difference

primarly the difference between the different brands is the ammount of apap.

Hi tser33,

As you've no doubt leardned over the years, thre are many formulations of hydrocodone.  The 10/ is the amount of hydrocodone, the  /650 is the amount of ACETAMINOPHEN.  For the benefit of those who are stumbling upon this thread now, a little explanation.  The ACETAMINOPHEN for long term use should be lower since it can potentially harm the liver.

All will help with most moderate to moderately severe pain though some formulations work better for some patients.  Together the hydrocodone and ACETAMINOPHEN potentiate the pain relief though from what I've read no one is sure why.

The lime green color is correct for Watson brand.  Other generics may be coloured differently.

Is what you have a "fake"?  Where did you get it?  Likely it's the real deal if it helps kill the pain

Hydrocodone/ACETAMINOPHEN  come in a variety of combinations from the popular Norco 10/325 to the lesser known Zydone 10/400 to Vicodin combos from 7.5/750, 5/500 and on and on.

There is also Vicoprofen, usually 7.5/200 where the 2nd # is ibuprofen.  Good for those with compromised livers and effective in general, I find.  Now Ibuprofen is procesed by the kidneys.

As long as you don't abuse and don't have already compromised organs you should be ok foor short-term use.  Though I'm no Docotor!   Talk to your Doctor!  I was prescribed Lorcet today and it is Watson marked as you noted.  I hope you are well by now.

This layperson's advice is just a guideline for anyone reading now.

Excuse the poor typing.  I' having mutilple problems now myself.

Good luck all

503

NO YOUR WATSON 503 IS TOTALLY REAL JUST AS THEY ALL SAID.  I USED TO GET THEM ALL THE TIME.  VERY EFFECTIVE.  I FOUND THESE TO BE BETTER THAN THE VICODIN HP WHICH IS 10/660, ONLY 10MGS OF APAP DIFFERENCE, AND I FOUND THEY DID NOT WORK AS WELL AS THE WATSON GENERIC LORCET 503.
