Found a bag of small yellow pills in my sons room.  On one side is  MD and the other is 513.  Any

ideas??????

That is what I thought.

 

That is what I thought. Your pill is Methylphenidate 5mg (Ritalin) a stimulant used to treat ADD/ADHD.

What to look for

 As far as I know (and please know this is ONLY My opinion) Ritalin can have 2 very different effects on you depending on how you react to it. I have seen people take it as a speedy kind of drug, as far as I have heard this was once called the 'housewives speed'. Then you have people where it relaxes them or puts them in a "zone" like state. My younger brother was on them as a child and once he was taking them for an extended period of time he seemed really far out there.

So I would suggest that if you see any changes in behavior such as sleeping alot or the opposite, being overly excited  ect ect.

Either way I would suggest you ask why they had the pills in the first place and what they had intended to do with them. If you leave the communication lines open without being accusative you are more likely to have a more successful relationship. Also by asking open ended questions you can draw a more accurate conclusion than asking leading questions that may confuse or intimidate them.

Like I said these are just my opinions and then again I have been a child development specialist for so long that this is just how I think. If you need anything else please feel free to ask. There is a bunch of excellent people here tat would be glad to help !!!
