one of my friends took 1000 mg of carisoprodol, 30 mg of oxycodone, and 4 mg of alprazolam. He is sleeping now, but breathing. He has a strong tolerance to all of the pills listed, but i am still nervous. What should I do?

I really don't understand

I really don't understand the logic behind these posts.

Maybe it's the medic in me but I find that asking for help on the internet during a potentially life threatening event to be foolish.

In the time it takes to type out a post and get the information provided it's the right information you or the person you are seeking help for could go from bad to worse.

I'm just guessing here, but

I'm just guessing here, but I can see why someone would do it this way, simple cost management and cover my a$$ syndrome are just 2 of the main reasons that come to mind at this late hour.

Do I REALLY need to call 911, have him transported to a hospital and have a $1000 bill and have him ticked off at me, because he now has this bill and all that was needed was a $5 bottle of Ipecac or 8 hours of sleep?

Why not just tell me to get it or that he'll be fine and I'm just worrying for nothing and save all that money?

As a medic, you might have a few grand just lying around and don't mind throwing it away for something that MIGHT be life-threatening or not, but what about those who can barely make ends meet as it is?

Or better yet a different scenario....

Dude, me and my friend are down here in my basement, and my parents are totally clueless. Man, you have any idea how freaked out my mom will be when the paramedics show up at our door? You know how much trouble I'm gonna be in after they leave? No way, man... hey, let's keep this on the QT and see what I can do, ya know?

great

Those are all perfect senarios. That's exactly what any young kids or paraniod teen may ne thinking. How hard would it be for them to go ask mom or dad, "hey my friend just took a bunch of drugs! Now what?"

Geez... kids today
