ok, heres the situation. im prescribed hydrocodone, 7.5/650. and i happened to run across some liquid methadone. but i was told not to combine the two! i know that im not prescribed methadone, and i shouldnt take it, and i know to be careful with it. im just wanting to know if i took one or two of my hydros and took a little methadone, what will happen. is that dangerous?
i guess i just went through a stupid moment and wanted some free liquid methadone. thank you for you input,,,, but before i read what you had said, i had already called the guy up and told him he can have it back. i will admit that i have taken methadone in the past and liked the feeling, but that was before i was prescribed my own meds. anyway, i have already given that back to him. i dont know what i was thinking. thank you.... just for my information..... what he gave me was like a pinkish liquid, but when it settled down it looked like it seperated,, like the heavy parts went to the bottom and it look mostly like water on most of the top part of the bottle,, does that sound right. it really doesnt matter cause i gave it back, but i was wondering if he tried to give me something else or was it watered down?
The pink part sounds right, but I've only seen liquid methadone in a documentary called Methadonia. As for the "watered down" aspect of it all, I don't know. I've never seen it before in person, but am glad you got rid of it.

Thanks for the insight, Meghan. I admit that I have no idea when it comes to liquid methadone. I've seen the tablets, but have not seen the liquid except on movies. The tablets I've seen are the same ones that are posted everywhere on this page by the way.
I'm glad someone on Methadone was able to put some clarity into this situation. Thanks Again.

Why would you want to combine hydrocodone/APAP with methadone? Are you a risk taker and just want to 'to try it'?
I don't understand.
Methadone is prescribed for narcotic dependency or severe chronic pain (when other drugs fail to help).
Methadone can be a death sentence when used irresponsibly. We've seen several deaths in the news lately because methadone is now more frequently prescribed.
In fact, it can also be a death sentence when prescribed and taken responsibly, because your doctor might not know all the herbs, OTCs and prescription pills you ingest or the lifestyle things you do such as drinking alcohol, smoking, lots of exercise/no exercise etc.
And titration comes into play. Even the best experts don't know how long one dose of any amount will last in your body. Only time tells, and the doctor needs to be very careful in determining the optimum dose for you.
Please don't experiment. Many lives have been lost lately because of methadone.
I'm not against the use of methadone at all. But I am against indiscriminate ingestion of the med or prescribers that are not well versed in the long half life of methadone.
