my question is with the ruling that purdue pharmaceuticals receiving their patent back removing all generics off the market except dava pharm version will there still be abg's, seeing how ab generics is owned by purdue and just sold by watson????? and why was dava given the right to still manufacture them, in my area boston we have never seen them or hear anything about that brand they all have a G then a number under such as 164 and they do not follow the purdue color scheme...10 white, 20 pink and so on. just wondering... I also saw a post about new generics like 80 30 or something, that is absolutly incorrect ....purdue just got back its patent there is no way a new company is going to manufacture oxycontin..........
Purdues website says 40mg are $5.87 per pill so x 120= 704.40
They also list generic prices;(These are per pill)
Watson-4.68
Endo-4.98
Teva-4.98
Dava-4.98
My last visit to my PM dr, he said that as of now no more generics available, which I usually get. Sure enough got to the pharmacy and they gave me brand. the lady couldnt speak english very well (I live in S.Florida) so I did not question her about the suit. Hope this helps you.

Thats alot of money. I always had an idea how much the 10mg/20mg and I knew all oxycontin was pretty expensive.... but have the 40's always cost that much or is this as of late?

Hi Tuna, I just got that off of their website. It does say for the state of vermont, but I assume that all states get charged relativly close to that amount. Yes its really expensive. Can you imagine the folks that dont have ins. now having to pay brand prices! I feel sorry for them.

To my knowledge Dava has been released from all liability in regards to their generic oxcontin. So it's also my understanding that they will be allowed to continue sales.
Coming from a recovering addict here, living in the Philadelphia area, if those number are correct,120 40mg for $860, then you would make $1540 profit selling them on the street but I know that this isn't what this site or thread is about but I just wanted to make a point to anyone thinking about experementing with this drug without a doctors orders you are in for not only what has been said many times on this site, a horrible addiciton, but financially crazy. So that being said, yes $860 does seem high tuna, but I don't think it was far off. When my cousin had cancer and before he died Purdue made 160mg OC's and if he did not have insurance at the time(remember this is also before all the generic things came along) my cousin would have had to pay more than 2 grand for 120 160s, now I know if you do the math with your 120 40s for $860 it comes out to alot more than that, but I was just making a point about the extremely high prices. Also, these Dava generic seems to be the only generic forms I haven't seen yet, in fact this is only like the 2nd time I've heard the name, huh? Could someone link me to the pictures of these. Please and thank you. BOO Eagles on their draft
OH, I have seen a picture of those, at first glance I thought that Greenstone was making a generic OC.
We have a couple of original images of the Dava oxycodone ER pills (actually it's Global - and Impax. Global is the generic subsidiary of Impax; Impax makes the pills for Dava). The "G" is Global's "G".
Just a little boring history about the intricate business practices of the pharm companies!

i dont like the "g 164" 80 mg oxy because when i take them sometimes i cough up gel from the anti abuse filler. also it gets stuck it my throat and iritates me. i can only take the "OC" or the "ABG" the teva "footballs" do the same thing with the gel.
I have never heard of that happening to anyone!

Until about 3 weeks ago Dava was involved in a lawsuit against Purdue over oxycontin. Basically they were suing to try and keep Purdue from having full control over the patent but they more or less lost since it was declared Purdue did have the right to the patent. If I remember right Dava will only be allowed to produce and sell their version of oxycontin until June 14th of this year and thats it and Purdue will have full control.
To anyone else here on the board that knows more about the subject, do you know when purdue's patent will expire this time? Also, how much does oxycontin cost? A friend said his script for 120 40mg would have been $860 if he didn't have insurance but I know this can't be correct, Purdue would have so many class action lawsuits against them right now for raising it up that high.
