Pink Pill from India, Imprint "MICRON"

Hi,

I received an unsolicited envelope with approximately 90 pink pills from India. There was a charge to my credit card, but I disputed it. There is no return address on the envelope, so I cannot send it back, and now I am just wondering what kind of pills they are. There was nothing else in the envelope, just the zip-lock bag with the pills.

The pills are pink, have a groove in the middle to make them splitteable, and the imprint reads "MICRON".

Does anyone know what kind of pill this could be? I have tried several "pill identification wizards", but none of them knew the imprint "MICRON".

Thanks for your help.

maybe viagra

Hi teqwc,

I can't be certain, but I would wager that these are generic sildenafil citrate pills from inda. A little google searching and I stumbled on a site selling Micron Pharmaceutical's [India] Sildenafil Citrate tablets (100mg) in batches of 100. A little more google searching revealed contact info for the company:

    28 , Lohar Chawl , Mahim
    Mumbai, Maharashtra
    India
    400016

    Tel: 9122 24451832
    Fax: 91 22 24457618
    Email:
    Web: www.microorgo.com

Of course the web address seems to be broken. I would simply throw the pills out.

I found this thread after posting to another board on this very subject.

teqwc, I too received a ziplock bag of these pills, in a brown padded envelope from India. My name and address were handwritten, and there is a return address on the back. The return address is barely legible, but is something like this:

from
Yorge S.
Sammail Nagah
Nagah Road
Pwu - 14 (M.S.)

Does this sound like the envelope you were sent? As you mentioned, the ziplock bag was the only item in there -- no paperwork.

You said there was a fraudulent charge in your credit card -- would you mind telling me what the charge was? I had a quick look at some of my recent statements but nothing jumped out at me. There were plenty of charges I didn't immediately recognize (ie. charges made by my husband) but nothing from India.

I'm really disturbed about this. Why in the name of heaven does someone in India know my name and address, and why are they sending me Viagra??!?! I don't know whether to just throw them out, or take them to the police.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes, that's it!

Hi Aluluei!

After reading the address you mentioned, I'm sure it's the same guy. All I could read was "Jorge S. ... Samnall ... Pune ...".

I will send you a private message with details about the charge.

Thanks for your googling and your help with the picture, davidm. I also googled a bit and found the same information. I sent them an email but haven't heard anything back.

I threw my pills away a few days ago.

Pink Viagra Image

Hi Teqwc,

I saw that you had tried to upload the image of the pink micron pills. We are working on making the image upload process easier and more straightforward. I've added the image to your personal gallery and linked to it in this post. That way everyone will know what these mysterious pink pills look like.

Great Photo!

Familiar

I know this information may not be very helpfull but my mom used to
have these pills...I've found them in her coat pocket before. So the
drugs aren't UNFAMILIAR...as to what they are for, what they do or
where you get them is unknown...nor will I ask my mom...my mom was and
still could very well be a drug addict. Just thought it'd help you to
know that you aren't the only one to come across them.

Thank you

Thanks, matthew hearts jenn, for your information.

I forgot all about this pill, and your post reminded me that I need to add it to our 'Most Wanted' Imprints.   I'll add it to the list of unsolved mysteries today.

These pills are codeine 10mg

I have some right in front of me after having just bought them while visiting an Indian pharmacy. They were contained loose in a large labeled plastic bottle which would also explain why you would have got them in a plastic bag rather than a blister pack.

Here are some details I found on the company

I think its codeine

Was searching for this to ID it as well, but that's after I got it in the mail on purpose after ordering Codeine through an online pharmacy.

This is ok for me as I am in Canada and its without perscription in small doses.

I believe this one has 10mg of Codeine, and no paracetol or acetomeniphen (spelling's bad, I know)...

that may explain another poster's offhanded comment to the same effect on the sites "unidentified" list which had its picture...

After taking one for mild pain (knee injury) I have no reason to believe its viagra at all.

Hope this helps

Codeine can be legally sold

Codeine can be legally sold OTC in Canada only if it contains no more than 8mg. It also must be combined with Acetaminophen (to prevent abuse). But this is sort of beside the point.

Carelessly, some international online pharmacies (IOP) will ship meds under false pretences. They are in the business to make money. So if a customer wants something they don't have, they will just send them something else. It is very possible that an order for a popular drug like codeine could have been substituted with just about anything. This is one of the dangers when dealing with IOPs.

If you look at posts on a couple of other boards, the general consensus seems to be that this is generic Viagra, but nothing confirmed.

Since this pill is foreign, unfortunately it may never be positively IDed. But this is why we are all here, and we can always hope for the best.

Still Searching for the pink Micron I.D....

I also received these pills from India. My package contained a piece of a Xanax/Alprazolam box. I did not order this product and have no idea how or why they were sent to me. I'm really really curious to know what they are because I was stupid and actually took 1/2 of one!!! A couple of people have suggested that they're Viagra and I can't confirm that because I don't know how Viagra would affect a woman. Someone else said that they may containe codeine, but I don't think that's true either or I probably would have noticed its effects. I know for sure that it's not Xanax though...so it remains a mystery. I did get another notice from the post office last week and it was another envelope from India which I returned to sender. But if anyone knows anything about what these pills are and why they're being shipped to random people, I would sure appreciate any info that I can get!! Thank you!

Pink Micron

I believe they are codeine tablets. Has anyone sent them out for testing? I know of an aquaintence who as a joke ordered 'codeine' tablets from a canadian online pharm. Well about 3 weeks later a package came from India:

Dr. Dinesh M. Karnick

Reg. No. A/2489

21 , Kolbe B dg:

Murbad Road, Ka(letters unsure here) 422301

30 pink 'Micron' Tabs

They were thrown out but packaging was photographed

Micron

I do not know what the pink Micron tabs are.  But I sort of believe a couple of posters that it's foreign generic Viagra marketed for women.

Codeine is probably not a possibility based on color, shape and score line.

Should a pregnant woman be taking codeine or is it not safe for her future baby ? I have seen that pregnancy and codeine don't really work together but what about the pains ?

Call your doctor and ask him/her.  They are the ones qualified to make that assessment.  As for the pain, your doctor knows which medicines to use for pain during pregnancy, let them decide what to do.  That's what they get paid for.

Micronase is for diabetes,

Micronase is for diabetes, but it does not answer the original poster's question.  We are looking for what the pill is, not what other drugs are used for.
