oxycontinBeing severly in chronic pain I was once on OXYCONTIN 160 mg 2 times daily and put on different pain releivers that was supposed to be the equimelant. I was told that this was discontinued in the U.S. Going to the library and looking up OXYCONTIN in the PDR I once again saw the OXYCONTIN 160 mg back in this book. Has it been reissued or is it just for other countries? Thank you ( categories: Discussion of Prescription and OTC Meds )
 The package insert dated
The package insert dated January 15 2007 has it listed as available, but says it should only be used in opiate tolerant patients. Also my insurance carrier has it listed as one of there approved drugs, but either way Im not on it so I dont know 100%. ^^^^i think that MUDBONE is
^^^^i think that MUDBONE is right. theres been alot of controversy about oxycontin these day's. anybody got a link to differnt carrier's watson etc etc so i can see for myself. i get 20mg teva from my pharmacy from what i understand the circle's are still made but a lil insight just a link would be alot of help, but then again i'd have to go through trouble getting the circle one's again cause i'm on a contract and what not i can only use 2 diff pharmacy's and both have the tevas. thank's in advance and of course u'll get another thank's later lol peace to all for now and good night to the rest lol <<<work at 7:30 160 o.cs
Yep, I am new to this web page but currently go to school to be a pharmacey tech and they do not make them in the U.S. but the do across seas and you can order thm just like you can other types of pills. If they were here I would have had a couple my way as well.

Bubba since you are on a contract to go to these specific pharmacies you might try asking if they can order the watson ABG (authorized brand Generic) made by purdue and distributed by watson. Unfortunately only teva can still make oxycodone ER products at this time, but after the end of the year and when all their stock runs out you will only be able to get the real deal which if you have insurance is great. I'm not sure what the deal with the watsons will be because they are made by purdue as well so they could possibly still be available. But next year everyone with insurance will be happy campers and those without I can't say because with a monopoly on the market they can really charge whatever they want. Hopefully they will be compansionate and lower the ridiculous price on those things. My friend just picked up 120 80mg OC's and they cost ~1500 dollars and they wonder why they get to the street, some people don't make that much money a month especially those who can barely work do to chronic back and other pain. I would tell you to ask the pharmacy to order you watson until they run out completely, I'm sure the companies all went wild making pills so they could sell the rest of their stock even though they can no longer produce them. Good luck because the teva's do not come close to giving the same anagesia as the OC brand name or their Authorized brand generic. Everyone who keeps saying that 160s are discontinued we already know that. What gcdylan and solo are talking about is that insurance companys and pharmacys and pharmacuetical companys have started listing 160 on there paperwork like theyre reselling or thinking about bringing it back i cant find any solid sources but the insert from my script now is listing 160 mg's (it didnt used to)  Oxycontin 160 mg.
There has been a lot of back and forth over this question in the past few days. I said it a few days ago and I'll say it again. The 160's were pulled from the market some time ago, but they have been reinstated by Purdue Pharma who makes the brand Oxycontin. If you go to Purdue's site http://www.pharma.com/ and select products and then Oxycontin prescibing information, it will list the the dosages that are available. I don't know how much more facts that can be presented other than the makers website and the PDR. For those of you who are not sure, believe me when I say, they are back and available in the United States! Director

Have you found them available? Do you have a place or source that actually states when they became available? You are finding these strengths, but does it specifiy on the prescribing info whether it is strengths that have been available or that are currently, and since when? On the DEA website that one of you listed it says that there have currently been everything from 20-160mg, but then when it lists more info, it only lists 20-80mg actually being made. I think someone needs to find more or new sources other than the DEA website, or the maker's website. anyone???

The same website you have been listing as having the info with the 160mg pills on it also has this: www.pharma.com/MSDSs/OxyContin_binder.pdf Material Safety Data Sheet w/ OxyContin 10, 20, 40, 80mg listed--but NO 160mg. I wonder, if they were distributing 160mg pills, wouldn't they also begin listing info on material safety as they do for their other OxyContin strengths? It would be a lot better if you could find an MSDS from more recent than 2004. But I dont see why people cant just accept that they arent in production. If they where, Purdue would have to report it to the FDA, and then it would be on the FDA CDER website as a Prescription drug instead of as being Discontinued. that's the only thing listed

yeah, I've tried but it was after hours. Customer service hours are until 5:30pm ES, and the actual Purdue 800 line it until 6pm ES. I was going to try to send an email and get a response that way I would have written proof, but they don't have any email support, only telephone. so yes, I will call again Monday, I already have the # in my phone LOL! Director, If you are one to believe everything in that link, why not tell us about how "they are now allowed to refill Oxycontin", due to the fact that it says "also read the information you get with your refills". Good morning everyone...I wanted to get this posted right away, so everyone would know. I just got off the phone with Purdue Pharma and I asked about the Oxy 160 and if it was on the market. The answer I got was, "no they are not". They have been off the market for over five years now. So, everyone that was maintaining they were not on the market, while I was saying they were, I owe you all an apology. I just wanted you to know that I had contacted Purdue for the information. Director, Dont feel bad. I certainly can see why you would think that they might have been re-marketed. I know that i questioned it myself when i began to see it on the package insert that came with the medication. The only thing that i have noticed is that certain pharmacies will have it on the insert and other pharms will not have it on the insert. You would think that they would fix it, but for some reason many pharmacies have not.
