i take 80mg oxycontin i have one left until friday i am in severe pain but the one i have left is broken does anyone know if it is safe to take?

From the boxed warning at the very top of the OxyContin prescribing insert:

OxyContin TABLETS ARE TO BE SWALLOWED WHOLE AND ARE NOT TO BE BROKEN, CHEWED, OR CRUSHED. TAKING BROKEN, CHEWED, OR CRUSHED OxyContin TABLETS LEADS TO RAPID RELEASE AND ABSORPTION OF A POTENTIALLY FATAL DOSE OF OXYCODONE.

Ingredients

All chemicals, binders and fillers are listed in the prescribing insert.

It's basically oxycodone plus whatever holds the tablet together. And also other chemicals that make it timed release.

Read the .pdf insert. By law everything should be in the insert.

i thought these tablets

i thought these tablets contained an opiod antagonist i.e naloxene
