Dianabol - clarification

This topic is a clarification on a trade-name "Dianabol".  Other threads on Pharmer for pill ID have used the name Dianabol as a synonym for the anabolic steroid Methandrostenolone (Methandienone) - "Dianabol" is a trade name only, not a chemical name.

As you can see from the image below the manufacturer of this tablet uses the name "dianabol" freely either through a patent expiration or some other wrangling of the trade name.  This tablet, by the admission of the manufacturer has NO anabolic steroids as ingredients, it is a dietary supplement of root extracts and other "stuff".

Dianabol dietary supplement - root extracts does NOT contain anabolic steroids Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals, Inc USAdianabol: Dianabol dietary supplement - root extracts does NOT contain anabolic steroids Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals, Inc USA

The manufacturer is Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals, Inc (NOT Hi-Tech Pharmacal Co., Inc. - which is a legitimate maker of prescription drugs...).

Hi-Tech lists the ingredients on their website as:

Quote:
Dianabol is a powerful combination of precision herbal extracts that trigger your body to build muscle and lose fat. Dianabol's primary role on the Hi-Tech Muscle & Strength team, which also includes Metanabol, Estrogenex, Anavar and Somatophen, is to keep acquired muscle protein within the muscles, so that you maintain a state of overall anabolismwhen normal protein breakdown occurs.

Know what you are taking.  The manufacturers used the right shape, color and even the name to mimic a steroid.  But alas, buyer beware.

Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals

This is certainly a very interesting thread, 4andsic. Thank you for posting your image and info.

I don't know how Hi-Tech gets away with using the name "Dianabol" on its OTC supplement but apparently that's only a 'minor' infringement.

The FDA warned about the Spontane-ES product (made by NVE and distributed by Hi-Tech) back in 2003 and claimed this supplement contained the active ingredient in Cialis.

Hi-Tech is now facing a few other serious legal problems:

I think your warning is very appropriate for all medicines and especially for the unregulated over-the-counter supplement business.

the woodshed

Wow! Nice job Kirby - sounds like a shady operation at Hi-tech Pharmaceuticals (but, of course, they are innocent until proved guilty...)

I kinda' wondered about the sub-standard quality of the imprint.  I guess in Belize, quality assurance is not worried about the clarity of the lettering.

Thanks for tracking that storyline down!
