I was prescribed the Drituss HD cough syrup, and I just wanted to know if its "just as strong" or "stronger" than the HydroCoedine cough suppressant? I know this is a pill forum and please excuse me, But you guys seem knowledgeable enough to help me. Thanks in advance!

Hydrocodone is generally considered 6 times stronger than codeine.  So 5 mg of hydrocodone is therapuetically equivalent to 30 mg of codeine.  So to answer your question, you will have to know the amount the codeine in the codeine based cough suppressant and compare it to the amount of hydrocodone in Drituss HD.

Drituss HD

Drituss HD cough syrup contains 100 mg guaifenesin, 2.5 mg hydrocodone and 30 mg pseudoephedrine in each teaspoonful.  The syrup is a combination of an expectorant, narcotic antitussive and decongestant.

I agree with mitomac that hydrocodone is about six times 'stronger' than codeine.   So the narcotic element in Drituss HD - 2.5 mg hydrocodone - would probably be equivalent to a syrup containing 15 mg codeine.
