Is generic oxycontin going away ?This is the 1st time I've posted but I read alot of the posts. I've been on a large dose of oxcodone a day and I read all of these post about same. My question is: Are they stopping the generic Oxycontin? Why I ask this is my insurance will not let me get brand if there is a generic. Thanks in advance to any/all response ! Ohare Don't feel to bad,I go from $7.00 to $199.99 for the 40 mgs. That's the way of the world, maybe PF will make their own generics,I do not understand why they would not. There is one person I know that has changed to Morphine ER generics and it looks like I will be following along the same path. What I am wondering is if would be legal for them to make generics, it might be some kind of anti-trust case, them having a monopoly What makes more sence is this
Since they are discontinuing the generics, shouldnt this prompt the insurances to offer lower copays since the brand names are the only ones that are available? I mean I understand, if they all along, never had a generic, but since they had generics then discontinued them, the insurance companies should make this a reason to offer lower copays.
