I currently get prescribed the 1mg Klonopin, at 120/month.

I have been told that this is an unusally high dose, and alot of times the pharmacy thinks I have altered the prescription. I have actually had the police show up to ask questions and actually just about ready to arrest me. Although, it is not against the law to Alter the prescription, it is only when you accept the medication that has been altered that is the crime. Since the prescription paper, actually belongs to you until you "redeem" it.

question is

does anyone else get these is high doses? I guess it is considered a high dose because the klonopin are slow acting and long acting benzos unlike xanax or some of the others.

4 a day seems to be high, for some reason, dont know.

Seems ok to me....

I am assuming you are prescribed this for anxiety not something like epilepsy. I was once prescribed to take 2mg's 3 times a day, so 1 mg 4 times a day would seem fine to me.

The pharmacist may have been suspicious because Klonapin is usually twice a day dosing, and it comes in 2mg tablets.  If the script had been written for #60, 2 mg tablets he might not have been as concerned.  It is usually an easy thing to call the office and confirm that the script is legit.

The short answer is that a

The short answer is that a chemical in grapefruit juice inhibits the enzyme that breaks down many drugs, including benzodiazapines.

So does this make the drug

So does this make the drug stronger or weaker?

Or doesnt matter, has no real effect on the actual drug.

Well I found the answer to my question, it seems tho it takes the drug to very high levels in the body.

For example, as much as 99% of BuSpar (Buspirone) is normally metabolized before the drug ever enters the bloodstream. When taken in the presence of grapefruit juice (not even at the same time), the amount of BuSpar in the system could increase as much as 400% - a hazardous situation.

Pharmacists act like when you are getting such a large amount, that you are taking from their own personal stash or something. They are supposed to be professionals - yet they sometimes act like they are 5 years old.

Seems fine to me

I dont see any problem with that dose

Thats only 4mg per day

I've heard of higher doses

The example of, if they were 2mg, twice a day, then there wouldnt be any problem, so I see no problem with your script

If it's from your Dr, then it's Legit, period

i am on a large dose of

i am on a large dose of klonopin myself and i buy my prescription 90 days at a time to get discounts for dispensing purposes.  i have been given "dirty" looks by my pharmacist as well, i have never been accused of tampering with my script but i can see them reading it several times before dispensing.  it makes me feel like i'm a wierd crack head freak or something.    i don't think you should feel bad, if you need to take 4 mg per day to feel "normal" so be it, and if you you have a physician that agrees with you, bonus.  don't feel bad i think at one point in time we've all been there or will be there. keep your chin up.  if you don't feel there's a problem and your family doesn't see a change in your behavior and you're able to keep up your daily routine it's all good.

Took me a long time to find

Took me a long time to find just the right dosage. I hate it when doctors try to give you other things and not benzos. When they know benzos work. Just another example of them not wanting to give you drugs that work.

I have been taking benzos for a long time. Since 1984, tried almost every kind of benzo. It does seem that Klonopin work better than Xanax in my opinion. Xanax does provide fast relief, but as long as klonopin are steady, they work perfect.

There was a couple times where I was out of klonopin for a couple days, the doc wrote me 2 days worth of xanax, to keep the benzos in my blood I guess, than back to klonopin.

I agree

Nobody should be able to tell another person what they do or dont need to feel right
