Soma 250 COMMENTS - Since you cant reply on the other Submit ForumI was wondering on the 250 Somas, if they will be covered on my Medical Insurance. Just a thought, since they wont cover the 350 Soma, I wonder if they will cover the Soma 250's. Interesting. Thoughts? Replies? ( categories: Discussion of Prescription and OTC Meds )
Soma
Hi KnightMetal, Your insurance won't cover carisoprodol (generic Soma)? I can understand the insurance company not covering brand name Soma 350 mg. Somas retail for $4.75 each (per Walgreens), but the generics are about $0.40 each. Surely your insurance pays for the generics? Since Soma 250 is new and is a brand name, I don't know if insurance companies will pay for them. You'll have to ask your carrier. I'm not a pharmacist or a medical doctor. Hello Kirby, No my insurance will not pay for Soma anymore. Name brand or Generics. Strange, they say SOMA are intended for short-term use only. And I was getting 120 month. 4/day. They say they are being abused. Whats even more strange, it says they will pay for Diazepam (valium). I guess Valium dont get abused. LOL. They obviously do not know what they are saying/doing. Insurance companies are very strange when it comes to Pharm drugs.. no doubt!

Carisoprodol is intended for short-term use only. But so is diazepam. And apparently both can be abused. Diazepam is already controlled, and carisoprodol is on the DEA's list of 'drugs of concern' so it will probably be added to the scheduled meds one of these days. I find it strange that both drugs have been around for 50 years and have a great safety record when taken as prescribed. There aren't many meds that are still around after five decades, so time speaks for itself. Most overdoses or deaths with these drugs occur because of blatant abuse, and often these episodes are attributable to 'poly drug' abuse. It's not these particular meds that are a concern. It's certain people that are a concern. These meds have withstood the test of time and are safe and effective when used properly. I'm not a pharmacist or a medical doctor. Just another example how medications that actually work - you will not be able to get. Atleast thru certain insurance providers. Weird stuff! Dr. Knight uses Click pic to download. However I am wondering why
However I am wondering why they would come out with a less-potent Soma. Strange...
