New suboxone question...I think

I've read so many posts regarding addiction/dependancy of Percs etc that I'm not sure I understand something. I've been taking Percs (40mg/day) for over a year.

I tried 1/2 suboxone today for first time ever and felt great for hours with no w/d symptoms etc. Thinking of asking doc for script of like 20 so I can cut down on percs and take sub when needed. However, I read somewhere on a post that docs can't just prescribe like other meds...they need some certificate? My husband doesn't know I take percs and I'm afraid if I do get suboxone and it takes that much effort he may eventually find out. Hopefully what I've asked makes sense. Any advice is appreciated.

I FEEL YOUR PAIN...I have

Yes, there is some special license the doctor has to have to give you Suboxone, I believe and I may be wrong, mostly psychologists are prescribers of Suboxone, hope that helps and please read further....I FEEL YOUR PAIN...I have posted under the stolen meds post on here, you should read the posts there....first and foremost, if you spouse cares for you, he will not be mad.. Things happens!!! I had to come clean to my wife today as a matter of fact, and the pressure relieved from my chest was indescribable... all she could say was , "wow, that explains a lot" I have been awake for almost 2 days and even the 5mg lortabs I got arent "all that" for helping me get sleepy.. I guess you just have to ask what is worse 1. Getting so dependant you start really doing some stupid things to get them or 2. Dealing with it, getting through it and moving on with the rest of your life....Even after taking 3 1/2 5mgs tabs in less than 8 hours, Im still sweating like a hog, I dont know if youve ever experienced full blown percocet withdrawal, but I have 3 times now and each time it gets worse... Please come clean with your spouse, last I checked the vows still read , "for better or worse, in sickness and in health" and believe me, Im no soapbox riding preacher... You are roughly on the exact same dose im perscribed and them DTs suck, hardcore... hope this helps... Im no pro, Im just a professional abuser who has grown weary from it.. Take care

If you are taking the

If you are taking the percocet for pain, any doctor can prescribe suboxone for you for pain, it just replaces the percocet.  Are you dependant or addicted?  If you do not have a documented painful condition that warrants narcotic analgesics and are addicted, you will need to find a doctor with a special suboxone licence.  If you are addicted, you will probably benefit from your husband's support and may also need counciling, and group support in order to stay on track in the long run.

This is a really helpful site.  It is for doctors who want to learn how to prescribe suboxone, but anyone can sign up to read the materials for free: http://www1.buprenorphinecme.com/PageReq?
