I have been taking Adderall XR for a while now and it was suggested to me to try this new drug from Shire; Vyvanse. Has anyone else tried this yet and if so how did it compare to Adderall? This drug is very new so I don't expect much. Thanks.

Vyvanse

We have a little information on it - consumer type, no experience. But it might help:

We'll be glad to find more consumer plus technical info if you want the links.

I too was taking addy XR and made the switch this week

I was having some issues with the Addy XR. So i met with my Doc, asked if I could just start taking the Addy IR but, he introduced me to vyvanse and I have been taking it for a few days now.

I had quite a few questions also and was really worried about it but, He explained it to me that this drug is alot cleaner and smoother. I don't ever feel edgy and I still feel just as productive as i did on the addy's but, just not as scatter brained.

If you want to ask any questions that I haven't answered then feel free to ask away. I was totally anti this 'new' drug but, it is actually probably exactly what I needed.

Definetly, interested in your point of view though. hit me back.

Experience with Vyvanse

I've been taking Vyvanse for bipolar disorder for about 6 months.  Before I was on mega-doses of ritalin several times a day, which resulted in lots of ups and downs each time i'd redose.  But vyvanse has been remarkably effective -- fast uptake and a steady, even effect for over 7 hours (I'm taking 70 mg.).  Good stuff and a great help for me.
