The Pharmer.org forums are intended to be used as supplements to other resources available on the site. Our team has provided links to some pill identification sites, pictures of foreign drugs and lists of some common drug imprints. We will add more resources in the near future.

If you can't find the information you need, post your question or comment in one of the forums. You must register to post a question or a reply. You will need a valid email address to set up an account. Your email address will not be used or shared by Pharmer.org.

We have a few simple rules for posting:

Don't use profanity or other vulgar language.
Don't promote or encourage illegal activities. This includes giving detailed instructions on methods of drug abuse or discussing non-conventional ways of taking drugs. Illegal activity also includes offering to buy, sell or trade any type of medication.
Online "pharmacies" that sell controlled medications without a prescription are illegal, so do not refer to these online pharmacies by name or by links.
Do not criticize or judge others. If you don't agree with someone else, present your own view in an objective manner. If you can't express your thoughts objectively then ignore the posts. Personal attacks will not be tolerated.
To ensure privacy, do not publish your email address in posts.
If you use information verbatim from another source, please credit that source.

i am just wandering what kind of people are also in this group im 27 mom of 4 married i have chronic back pain due to tramatic pregnancies that is why i am familiar or not so familier with certain pills i also care for my sick mother so some of her meds confuse me so that is why im here i know the forums arent really for this but i m just asking

Please, no copyrighted images in the contributed gallery

We are very excited about including your pill images in our Contributed gallery. We are particularly looking forward to receiving your digital photographs and scans of any pills you may have. Please do not upload images which are clearly copyrighted (ie GSM images from Eckerd Drugs).

A good rule of thumb is that if the image is the product, do not upload the image. For example, GSM's marketable product which they license to many people is their pill photograph database. The use of their images would be tantamount to stealing their property.

On the other hand, if the image is of a product, it is probably ok to upload the image if the source is clearly cited. An example would be a pharmaceutical manufacturer's picture of their own pill. In this case, the product is the pill, and our use of the image would not infringe on the ability of the manufacturer to sell their product.

Also, please limit the use of inlined images to thumbnail size (default) and always cite the source.

I hope these rules are simple and clear enough that everybody will be able to follow them. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have in the forums.

Using images on Pharmer.org

The use of images in posts is an important tool in confirming the identification of any medication. There are two different mechanisms for displaying images in posts.

Inlining images (linking to off-site images)

Uploading images (add your image to the Pharmer.org collection) and including images from the Pharmer.org galleries.

To inline an image, click the icon on toolbar. Enter the URL of image you want to include in the post. For example: http://www.pharmer.org/files/pharmer_logo.jpg (dont' forget the "http://"). All the other fields on the form are optional.

To upload an image, click the icon directly below the editor. Click 'Add image' in the upper left hand corner to upload an image. Alternatively, click "create content" in your user menu on the left hand side of the screen and choose "Add Image". On the next upload image form, please include a title and a brief description of your image. Your image and description will automatically be inserted in the Contributed Gallery. Please also see the forum topic regarding the use of copyrighted images.

To include an image from a Pharmer.org gallery in your post, click the icon and select any image in the Pharmer.org collection. You can narrow down the images by either choosing a specific gallery under "filter options" or by clicking "my images" to show only those images that you have previously uploaded. After selecting an image for insertion, simply press the "insert image" button. The inserted thumbnail will be automatically linked to the full image and description.
